On the 7th of March 2018, the SRUC Digital Classroom committee held their first face-to-face meeting at Barony campus in the Kirkmichael Room (above). Representatives (including senior management) from SRUC’s IS Department, Properties and Estates and the Education Division were present at the meeting.

Previous to this first meeting, Belinda Haig (SRUC, Manager Business Systems) kept the new team abreast of the procurement, Digital Classroom documentation and contract related documentation within the Digital Classroom SharePoint site.

For this meeting, the team had the task of  choosing from three quality presentations from Audio and Visual (AV) suppliers. Their pitch covered AV equipment such as the Kramer Via, layout or the Kirkmichael seminar room and staff training surrounding the new teaching and learning space at Barony Campus.

As part of this pilot project, which will eventually be spread to other SRUC Campuses, three Industry Sectors (Agriculture, Engineering and Forestry) will pilot the newly installed collaborative Digital Classroom at Barony Campus with their students for the new 2018-19 academic year. We will keep you updated on the progress of these pilot projects.

Julie Parker (Barony Campus Senior Tutor) will be the Project Manager and Ali Hastie (SRUC e-Learning Developer) Senior Supplier for this initiative.
